Born Selorm Kwame Leh, Slik is a Melbourne-based musician/producer, songwriter and music video director that contributes a quirky yet a seductively sensual style of music into the entertainment industry. He hails from Ghana, West Africa. Slik recorded his first studio song in 1998, the title of the song “Chale” gave him and his band quite a buzz in the community and school. Soon after they both teamed up with Waleed Helwani(R.I.P.) to form a crew “Black Dragons” which was to be managed by Obibini Records owned by Faisal Helwani (R.I.P). Unfortunately, things did not turn out as expected and the crew was dissolved. However, in senior secondary school, Slik was ushered into a hip-hop crew that became very popular amongst the youth. They entertained the school and went on to perform at other social events. In 2003, Slik teamed up with his childhood buddy Syko to form the crew “DS” (double S) under the entertainment company “Deep Slumz Ent”. It was at this time when Slik discovered his passion for producing magnificent instrumentals. A year later Rocky was introduced to the crew and the name of the crew was then changed to “Dem Boyz”. In 2004, Dem Boyz was then given a management contract by Wild Wild studios and Slik got to work with the likes of K.K Fosu, Nkasei, Kofi Nti, Akwaboah (Sarkcess Music), Grey, Tinny, Stonebwoy, Nii, Obibini etc. Dem Boyz recorded a number of hits including “Mama” (prod by Slik) which featured Syn (Dark Suburb), “Bring the pain”, “Air Max” (prod. By Slik) ft. Obibni. Slik later cut ties with the crew and went on to work as a producer at Boom Entertainment Studios. In 2014, Slik decided to make his act more professional and formed the label “Taima Music” in Australia. He recorded and produced songs like “Amen” which features Quashani Bahd, “Still I Rise”, “Wiper” featuring Envy Prince, 'Bend Over' which showcases his unique vocal ability, amazing storytelling and seductive lyrics layered over interesting melodies, an intriguing pop hook and multilayered afrobeats instrumentation, “Gangsta” which features Treasure Kay. He has also produced, mixed/ mastered for the likes of Lowkey, Rude Vandosky, Houcci, Slicker 1, BlackLawd etc. Early 2017, Slik collaboration with Dj Kofi Dagaati put together the famous “Dagaati Riddim” which featured numerous talented acts including Frank Guy, Wan Row, Samini, Blakk Wailer, Renner and many more. Slik is a very talented artist who aims to contribute to the creative arts with positive energy through his versatility. He ultimately produces and directs most of his music videos as well as directs and produces music videos for other artists such as Rude Vandosky.
