Last call to help save iconic music venue Howler!

You only have a couple of days left to submit your objection to the planned construction of a residential complex backing on to the venue.

What's the issue?

An application for a property development has been lodged to build an eight-storey apartment block. The building would back onto Howler with bedrooms literally backing on to the band room. If the development goes ahead as proposed noise-complaints will just be a matter of time.

Howler hosts some insane Hip Hop gigs and is a crucial part of the live music scene in general. We believe that this is well worth a few minutes of your time to help voice your disapproval of the project.

Act now!

You can object to the proposed development here until Monday July 10. Go to the 'Planning Permit Applications Advertised' section and search for the Michael Street development (currently page three).

NOTE: This is not one of those email signature collections. You will actually be asked to explain why you object to the project. So make sure you have a few spare minutes to type out your statement when you do it.

While your objection is not likely to stop the development from going ahead, it may force the developer to reconsider the soundproofing of the building to help residents and party-goers live in peace.
